Streamlining Operations

Unfortunately, developing casual games for mobile platforms has become quite a hassle.
There are millions of games and apps available because basically anyone with minimal knowledge can make one, thus, developing a new game makes no sense, markets prioritize the most popular games and donโ€™t really promote new titles unless you have a big fat budget for marketing.

At the same time, there are these stupid new regulations, like GDPR and CPRA. Marketplaces have their own rules, which they change from time to time, like the Google Play Store, which requires updating the app at least once every 2 years, otherwise, it will be automatically removed.
Plus, sometimes I need to update games to fix my own bugs and add new features.

Anyway, keeping numerous games in compliance with all the new rules and regulations is quite a soul-sucking task, so I’ve decided to remove most games from markets except for the two most popular and profitable.

All-in-One Solitaire and All-in-One Mahjong are both available for Android, iOS, Windows 10+ and online.
I will keep updating those games and add new features.

All other games, All-Peaks Solitaire, Shadow Solitaire, Rainbow Lines and Match Jong are only available online at the Pozirk Games website.

At the same time, there is some good news! ๐Ÿ™‚
Old Flash games, that stopped working after Adobe stopped distributing Flash plugin, are slowly coming back to life!
Thanks to Ruffle, a Flash Player emulator.
It is still in beta, but several games are working just fine already.
Balloon Express – works!
Feed The Furry – works!
Instant Football – works!
Mad Tanks – works, but there are some bugs and game doesn’t save the progress.
Total Construction – almost works, but not yet.
Resistance Is Useless – not yet.
Space Age – not yet.
Dolly The Sheep – not yet.
Charlie Likes Strawberries – not yet.

Mad Tanks, Space Age and Resistance Is Useless are still my 3 most favorite games.

All-Peaks Solitaire released

Finally, I have released the last part of All-Peaks Solitaire: a free version of the game for iPhone and iPad.
It took me so long because of this problem with Admob Extension for OpenFL: https://github.com/openfl/extension-admob/issues/31
The problem was recently fixed and now every iOS user can enjoy playing All-Peaks Solitaire game.
iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/all-peaks-solitaire/id1224751098
iPad: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/all-peaks-solitaire-hd/id1224812168

Now, I can get back to current projects: All-in-One Solitaire 2 and Bouncing Bubbles.

All-in-One Solitaire 2, work in progress

One of the biggest issue with first part of All-in-One Solitaire was super bad code written by me.
So doing any modification was quite painful.
Game “Undo” action was one of the things, that caused me problems. While lots of players asked for multi-step undo feature, with my code, I could hardly realize even a one-step undo. ๐Ÿ™

That’s why I decided to make All-in-One Solitaire 2 from the scratch.
Finally, I have some progress, a well made (I hope so) system that can handle different card games with multi-step undo action and many other features.
It’s better to see the feature in this demo:

All that thanks to great book, Game Programming Patterns, which is available for free on a website and specifically to Command Pattern, that made my code much cleaner and functional.

Meanwhile, I have added lots of new layouts to All-Peaks Solitaire, and I will add one more game mode soon.

Also, All-in-One Solitaire and 3 parts of All-in-One Mahjong games were improved with Portuguese and Italian translations, as well as with “Share” button.

Developer-friendly SlideME, not!

It’s not an easy thing for indie-developers like me to promote and distribute games.
Creating games by myself is lots of fun, but I simply have no time/experience/budget for good promotional campaign.
That’s why every distribution channel is important for me and every download is count.

Recently, I have submitted All-Peaks Solitaire game to SlideME, and was very surprised when my game was declined with the following reason: “REPETITIVE CONTENT: (No more solitaire card games permitted from this developer)”.
So far, I have only 2 solitaire games on SlideME, which is not that many. And they both are unique.
I’m definitely not that developer, who release just another copy of jigsaw/dress-up/slots game every week. ๐Ÿ™‚

Being confused, I’ve sent a message to SlideME asking them to try my game and reconsider their decision.
Here was the answer:

So my account was “flagged for spamming”, just because I’ve contacted SlideME support staff!
I have never received such rude and disrespectful answer. I was contacting Google, Apple, Amazon and many others, but this is first time I’ve got such response.

I wish SlideME success in their business and hope one day they will understand, that developers are their friends, who bring them new content and thus new users, and not their enemies.

All-Peaks Solitaire flash version release

I’m finally releasing flash version of All-Peaks Solitaire game.
Game now has 3 modes: Tri-Peaks, Pyramid and Lamp(mode with my own game rules).
I’m planning to release mobile version of the game in 2017 and start working on two new games.

I know, making game trailers is not my strong suit.
Happy New 2017 (or 2560) Year! ๐Ÿ™‚

All-Peaks Solitaire, first screenshot

Trying to find sometime to work on All-Peaks Solitaire between all these holidays and moving/renovations, I have.
Here is first screenshot:

If lucky enough time-wise, I’m planning to release beta version of the game by the end of July.
I guess, I need to register a domain name asap, until some “nice guy” did it for me.

All-in-One Solitaire on hold, All-Peaks Solitaire in development, All-in-One Mahjong

I have decide to put All-in-One Solitaire 2 game development on hold and make All-Peaks Solitaire game first.
All-Peaks Solitaire will be a mix of Tri-Peaks and Pyramid Solitaire with lots of different layouts.

Also All-in-One Mahjong is featured as “#1 Hit Game” at Big Fish Games in Mahjong category both for PC and Mac. And I’m really happy about that. ๐Ÿ™‚
